When it comes to purchasing insurance for your collector vehicle there is one  very Important additional coverage endorsement that should be included on your policy that is not included on a regular use automobile policy.  It’s called an ” AGREED VALUE ” endorsement. In the Province of Ontario it has a specific policy form number that you need to make sure is on your policy. It is shown on the policy as an  ” OPCF # 19A ” endorsement form.

Most specialty collector automobile insurance companies will include this OPCF # 19A endorsement on the policy when the vehicle owner provides them with a  ” FAIR MARKET VALUE ” appraisal document prepared by a recognized and impartial , independent Collector Vehicle Appraiser. Most insurance companies will request an appraisal every 3 to 7 years depending on the particular insurance company , the type of car and of course market volatility and / or vehicle upgrades.

Our Appraisal Service

We appraise collector vehicles in regions of south central Ontario Canada .
We will come to your home to view the vehicle. We will spend considerable time going over the automobile, review and document it’s condition and features. We will also spend time discussing the vehicle with you – having you advise the work you have done or had done.  We will review and photograph all build or restoration documentation you have.  We will also take several photographs of the vehicle itself.

At our office we will research the vehicle, the VIN #, we make and assessment of the condition of the automobile and research for several comparable in the market and consult other sources to establish a ” Fair Market Value “.  At this point we will prepare two (2) certified original appraisal documents ( one for the owner and one for the the owners insurance company ). These documents will include a detailed written description of our findings and assessment as well as vehicle photographs. These will be sent to the owner (or , one copy to the owner and we can arrange to send the insurance copy to the insurance company or broker on behalf of the owner).
